What is Intellowave technology ?
LG’s unique Intellowave technology transforms the ordinary microwaves into 3 dimensional waves which enables food to cook more evenly and faster.

How would you test if a dish is suitable for microwave cooking?
Place the dish along side a cup of water in the microwave oven and set it on 100% power for 1 minute. If at the end of the time the dish is cool or slightly warm to touch, it is perfectly suitable for microwave cooking. If however, it is hot, it should not be used.

Is exposure to microwaves harmful?
Since microwaves are non-ionizing rays, they have no harmful effects on the body.

Is microwave cooking safe?
It is extremely safe, since the microwaves that cook the food are non-ionizing, which means that they do not cause harmful changes in molecules. They only create heat, which has no more effect on the body than the normal heat. What is more, the door is carefully designed so as to confine the microwave power in the oven capacity. As per ISI standard, 2 switches have been provided to prevent the magnetron power supply to be switched off the moment the door is opened. In addition a latch is provided to securely lock the oven door. The oven is also provided with two independent thermal cut off power supply to magnetron if the cavity temperature goes beyond the determined temperature, and the magnetron exceeds the specified temperature limit.
Are microwaves safe for children to use?
Yes, even children above 5 years can use a microwave oven. Since the oven doesn't get heated, there is no danger of getting burnt or scalded. Also, emission of microwaves is stopped the moment the door is opened. Hence, microwave ovens are perfectly safe for children to operate.

Can metal rack be used in Convection combination mode?
In the combination mode, the microwaves are used for a short duration in the microwave mode. Therefore, a metal rack shouldn't be used in Convection combination mode. The rack has no sharp edges and the gap between the rods of the rack is large enough to prevent sparking and to allow the microwave to pass through. The grill rack is only to elevate the food to come closer to quartz heater element for faster browning.
Why do we have to puncture vegetable skin before subjecting them to microwave?
Due to friction of the food molecules, heat is generated within the food substance. The moisture contents get vaporized due to this heat and there is a pressure build-up within the confines of the skin in the food substance. So to release this pressure, vents on the skin have to be provided to avoid explosion of the skin.
What items one can't do in the microwave oven?
Deep frying. This is because temperature of oil cannot be controlled and it will catch fire on reaching flash point
Does the food cooked in a Microwave Oven carry residual Microwaves?
There are no residual waves in the food. Once the cooking is done all the waves are used up completely.
What is the ideal shape for microwave dishes?
Round and ring shaped dishes give the most even cooking results. In addition, since microwaves penetrate to a depth of 1 ½ to 2 inches, shallow and straight sided containers are better. In other words, round, shallow and straight sided dishes are ideal for microwave cooking.
What’s wrong when the oven light will not glow?
There may be several reasons why the oven light will not glow. Either light bulb has blown or power supply not there.
Why does the beep tone sound when a pad on the Control Panel is touched?
The beep tone sounds to assure that the setting is being properly entered.
Why do eggs sometimes pop?
When baking, frying, or poaching eggs, the yolk may pop due to steam build up inside the yolk membrane. To prevent this, simply pierce the yolk before cooking. Never microwave eggs in the shell.
Why is standing time recommended after microwave cooking Is over?
After microwave cooking is finished, food keeps on cooking during standing time. This standing time finishes cooking evenly throughout the food. The amount of standing time depends on the density of the food.
Why does my oven not always cook as fast as the microwave cooking guide says?
Check your cooking guide again, to make sure you’ve followed directions exactly; and to see what might cause variations in cooking time. Cooking guide times and heat settings are suggestions, to help prevent over-cooking . . . the most common problem in getting used to a microwave oven. Variations in the size, shape and weights and dimensions could require longer cooking time. Use your own judgement along with the cooking guide suggestions to check whether the food has been properly cooked just as you would do with a conventional.
